Lady Gaga

So I have to post on here that I am a huge fan and supporter of Lady Gaga. Not only because she is an amazing artist and performer, but also because she is a major advocate of gay rights and she breaks many social norms. People think that she is "weird." People often argue about her gender. People argue about her provocative performances and the message she is portraying. If they took the time to really explore her work and her thoughts, they would understand that she is truly an inspiration and she does all things with a purpose. I found an excellent from her that relates to my frustration from my last post:
"Some women choose to follow men, and some women choose to follow their dreams, If your wondering which way to go, remember that your career will never wake up and tell you that it doesn't love you anymore."

I feel like I am a little late on posting my first blog, but I tend to procrastinate. Something to know is I am a visual person. I like images. I found one today that I think suits me quite well. It is dry and sarcastic.
The purpose of this image for me is that I am constantly baffled by the amount of women I know and meet, my age, that feel the obligation to drop all that they have worked so hard to accomplish to fit into their significant others' life. My boyfriend and I struggle with this. He respects me very much and it is only human nature for him to want me to stay in Greensboro after I graduate. Unfortunately for him, I have goals I want to accomplish and where I want to accomplish them is somewhere other than Greesnboro. He knows this and he accepts it. Why do some women (even men) feel that they should mold their lives to fit others? Maybe I'm selfish...I don't think so.
